Privacy

Last updated 25 August 2026

Chimereader collects nothing. There is no account, no analytics, and no telemetry.

What we collect

Nothing. We do not collect, receive or store your documents, your reading activity, or any personal information. There is no sign-in, so there is no account for anything to attach to.

Your documents

Documents you open are read on your device. Text extraction, layout detection, speech and word alignment all run locally. We never receive them.

When the app uses the network

WhyWhat is sent
You paste a web link for it to readA request to the address you gave it. Nothing goes to us.
You choose to download an optional voice or layout modelA request to the model host. No document content.

No other outbound request is made. Reading a document requires no network at all.

iCloud

If you turn on iCloud sync, your library is stored in your own iCloud account under your Apple ID. That is between you and Apple. We have no access to it and receive nothing.

Children

Chimereader is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, of any age.

Changes

If Chimereader ever adds a feature that sends data anywhere, this page will say so before that feature ships, and the change will be described in the app's release notes.
